Hill Country Water Features

December 11th, 2008

The housing development in San Antonio, Texas grew exponentially the three years our family lived there. The year after we left we did not even recognize the area we had lived in. Stores and restaurants were added to the strip of road we used to get home, and even stoplights were placed at our main street to get in and out of the housing division. The homes built varied from cracker box type to at least a half million dollar deluxe homes.

We knew one builder that started with homes around 5000 square feet and when he let my children work for him in the summer, he had moved up to homes that were around 20,000 square feet. Not only were the homes stupendous, but the grounds around the home were unbelievable. One custom home had an Olympic sized swimming pool with granite rock and also a 30 seat theater room. The entranceway was so grandiose with an indoor water wall stretching 20 feet along the wall. They seemed to love the theme of running water, as the wet bar tabletop had a water feature that had bubbled water flowing through it. It was amazing. Even the brick covered driveway had a waterfall the showed on both sides of the outside wall with a water fountain on the farthest side. It was dumbfounding to see all the amenities and beautiful accessories each home had. When our children are raised, we intend to go back to the Hill Country of San Antonio and find us a lovely home now in the midst of all of life
